Alpine bloom

Hiking tips around St. Anton

Blooming Alpine meadows, soft light, crisp mountain air. Early summer in the mountains around St. Anton has a special charm. Keep pace with the rhythm of nature and immerse yourself in the opulent sea of colour.

It all begins with a scent. Warm, resinous, carried by the wind. Then the first step on springy meadow ground. And finally, the view: across glowing globeflowers, vivid pink Alpine roses, and deep blue gentians towards the mountain peaks. Early summer in St. Anton is lavish yet effortlessly beautiful. Fancy three insider tips?

Putzen Alpe
A gently challenging trail. The path to Putzen Alpe hut leads through airy woodland, accompanied by the soft babbling of Putzenbach stream. Sulphur-yellow anemones, deep-blue spring gentians, and rosy Alpine heather line the way. Once you reach the top, you’ll marvel at a natural clearing – sun-drenched, wide, and silent. A perfect spot to rest amid a paradise of blossoms.

Sattelwald trail
Precious moments in nature await you on the Sattelwald trail. Accompanied by the scent of resinous spruce, the whisper of wind through the treetops, and the ripple of water, this walk leads you through tranquil woods and lush meadows where cows graze. Can you spot the delicate toadflax, bright yellow arnica, or deep-violet lupins?

Rendlalm hut
When late June and early July paint the slopes around Rendlalm hut with countless pink-red Alpine roses, the landscape resembles a painting. The ascent leads via the Moostal trail and the Alpenrosen trail to Rendlalm hut. For those wishing to climb even higher, Mt Zwölferkopf awaits.

The Alpine pastures around St. Anton offer more than just floral splendour – they’re quiet retreats. Morning dew on lady’s mantle, rustling grass, the scent of sun-warmed blossoms: if you walk attentively, you’ll discover the precious wonders of summer.
