Sunrise over snow-covered mountain village in valley

The mountains are all yours.

March secrets at Mt Arlberg

The shoulder season at Mt Arlberg is a secret – for now. Wide slopes with perfect spring snow, hours of sunshine on the terrace, and your hidden luxury mountain home Arpuria. March combines skiing bliss, natural experiences, and Alpine luxury into a programme that will be sure to delight you.

Ask experienced Arlberg enthusiasts about their favourite month on the mountain, and the answer is surprisingly often: March. Why? The days are getting longer, the sun is already noticeably warmer, and the snow is in top condition. 300 kilometres of slopes await around Arpuria, and you have many of them all to yourself. The result: a skiing experience that is as majestic as the landscape itself.

The firn window: skiing for those in the know
Those in the know head out early and enjoy the best turns on the firn snow. The valley run down Mt Gampen is the ideal start to your March skiing day, afterwards the 2,330-metre-high Mt Kapall beckons with a leisurely descent that elegantly sweeps across the wide slopes. And for the ultimate highlight, we recommend the south side of Mt Rendl: here, the snow remains compact for longer, and only around midday does that legendary firn snow form, which makes the Arlberg region so tempting in March.

Beyond the slopes: only in the shoulder season
Think cosy hikes through the tranquil Verwall valley, walks through the village with views of the still snow-covered peaks, and the occasional stop at sun-drenched terraces; all of this is what makes these weeks so special. If you ascend Mt Valluga, you’ll be rewarded with a panorama that spans three countries. Simply stunning.

Spa, cuisine, style at Arpuria
Arpuria is at its most charming in the shoulder season. In the Aria Spa, you can look forward to a heated indoor and outdoor pool, the panoramic sauna with views over the snow-covered mountain ridges, the hay sauna with fragrant Alpine hay, and an infrared salt grotto for deep-reaching revitalisation. The Relax Lounge and the Panorama Lounge offer relaxation areas with style. In the evening, the Pura Restaurant is your place for enjoyable casual dining with regional flair, while the Vita Bar rounds off your day with exquisite drinks and subtle beats. All in a hotel that has elevated discreet luxury to a philosophy.

The shoulder season at Mt Arlberg is more than just a footnote in the calendar: it’s an invitation to anyone who knows that the best experiences await where the crowds have already moved on.
