If you want to escape the crowds and discover sun-kissed mountain slopes and enchanting snowy forests, you absolutely have to give snowshoeing a go. The snowshoes’ large surface area lets you plod effortlessly through the fresh powder snow, leaving the first tracks. A feeling of boundless freedom grows within you. Simply amazing.

2. A little more romance: Explore the winter landscape by the light of the flickering fire on a torchlit snowshoe hike. An especially atmospheric experience.
3. The Mt Arlberg area is also perfect if you’d prefer to head out independently. Numerous well-signed routes criss-cross the winter sports region. No matter whether it’s a panoramic tour or challenging high-altitude hike, everyone will find the right path for them here.
4. The best time to go snowshoeing? Whenever there’s a good covering of snow. The winter season at Mt Arlberg typically begins at the end of November and lasts until mid-April. And the end of the season is especially attractive: Long days and the soft spring sunshine turn your hike into a uniquely enjoyable experience.

All you need for snowshoeing is decent footwear and comfortable winter clothing. You can rent the snowshoes themselves once you’ve arrived here.
